In this thread, tell the sneakiest thing you've ever done in an Airsoft skirmish. I'll start:
We were playing Attack and Defend in a large woodland field that took at least 5 min. to walk across. I was on the Defending team, so while the Attacking team waited in the safe zone, we trekked across the field until we came to several boulders. Several people on my team hunkered down near the boulders for cover.
I went to a boulder and crouched behind it, then got the bright idea to completely cover myself with leaves. While I laid down, my friend completely covered me with surrounding leaves...so much so that I was very difficult to spot. He left and went behind his own boulder, and the game began.
For 15 minutes I lay there, silent. In the distance I heard yelling and the sound of AEG fire. It seemed all the fighting was happening on the other side of the field...but then...
Suddenly, I heard footsteps moving quickly. I heard the crunch crunch crunch as someone was walking towards me. Then, I heard the sound of an AEG firing and HIT! One of the members of my team had been brought down. As he walked by, I saw the attacker move forward, and take cover behind a tree directly in my line of sight.
I knew I could bring him down. My finger moved toward the trigger. I was only 20 ft. away, but he couldn't see me at all. Then, I completely sprayed the tree he had been behind. There was no question of whether or not he had been hit. Even after he called himself out, I still don't think he saw where I was.
Envigorated by my sudden kill, I lay down, now ready for anything. It was cold out, but the leaves were keeping me warm. My ears listened. Most of the fighting appeared to be over. I was unsure of how many guys were left on my team. Suddenly, I heard more footsteps through the underbrush.
This time, the two attackers struck quickly. They fired, and before I knew it, two of my team members had been hit and walked past me to the safe zone. I could hear the attackers, but I couldn't see them because they were on the other side of the boulder.
Then, one of then spoke to the other, and I realized there was a guy right on the other side of the boulder. He was so close I could literally here him breathing. Then he said, "I'm moving up," and he came around the boulder.
I didn't move or breathe. I looked into my red dot sight, and saw the attacker walking right behind me in the reflection. I was unsure of how well the leaves would cover me. I knew if I moved, I was dead. My heart was pounding.
But then I waited two minutes, and he had moved up behind another boulder. The leaves had covered me so well, he hadn't seen me, even from 5 ft. away. But I knew I would not kill then just laying here.
In a moment of boldness, I sat up, the leaves falling off of me. I looked and saw an attacker lying down around 30 ft. away. I quickly took him out with a burst from my G36C. I turned and looked for the attacker who had just walked behind me. With a spray of .2s, he was out in less than a second.
I felt awesome and so sneaky that I had just gotten two guys out in less than 5 seconds. But my moment of glory was abruptly ended as another attacker had seen me come out the leaves and fired a barrage of ammo at me. I might have died in the end, but it felt good to bring them down with me.
Later, I found out that I had been the last guy left alive on my time. Altogether, this was the sneakiest thing I've ever done in an Airsoft game. Now share your stories!
